The Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20) created the infrastructure for basic ministerial functions within the Church. These functions are used to assist you in choosing a volunteer position that will service-match you to the best ministry or organization possible.
The four functions of ministry life are:
Parish Outreach -- Bringing the Good News to all who seek the life-giving message of faith in Jesus Christ
Fellowship and Service -- Coming together to build a stronger community of faith
Prayer and Worship -- Serving and participating in the liturgy and prayer groups through various opportunities
Faith Formation -- Nourishing, forming and deepening the faith one receives through the ministry of the Church
Examples of the above ministries that are available at Our Lady of Lourdes are listed below. If you cannot find what you are looking for please let us know. We are always looking for volunteers for "old" and new ministries. You might be just what we are looking for!

Maintenance Ministry - The Building and Grounds Committee is responsible for the upkeep and improvements of the facilities on the parish buildings and grounds.
Pastoral Council - The pastoral council is a representative body of the faithful who serve the pastor in an advisory capacity in nonfinancial matters pertaining to the health and wellbeing of the parish.
Prayer & Worship
Parishioners have many options for volunteering in our prayer and worship ministries. The parish itself depends upon those who pray and offer sacrifices for it, and on those who enrich it through various celebrations of the liturgy and feast days throughout the year.
Music Ministry - Our Lady of Lourdes is fortunate in having beautiful music at our liturgies. Many devoted volunteers offer their time and talents within the music ministry. We are regularly recruiting more singers and instrumentalists for both our choirs. We count on the efforts of people just like you. You can contribute to the beautiful music that touches so many during the Mass.
Eucharistic Adoration - Eucharistic Adoration is at the core of our prayer ministry. 24 Hour Adoration is offered on the First Friday of each month beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Other Ministries - Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Altar Servers, and Ushers and Greeters also perform important ministries in our liturgical celebrations and recruitment is ongoing.
Faith Formation
Faith Formation - Our faith formation programs are designed to teach and inspire. Since growing in our knowledge of the Faith is a lifelong journey, our programs offer opportunities for both children and adults to grow in the knowledge and love of God and our Catholic Faith.
Interested in teaching? Please call the church office at 254-865-6710. Scripture says: "Those who lead the many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever" (Daniel 12:3).
