Do you like working behind the scenes? Then you may consider becoming a Sacristan. A Sacristan, who works under the direction of the priest, has duties that are related to taking care of the Sacristy (hence the name Sacristan) and the sacred items in the Sacristy.
Some examples of what a Sacristan does includes readying and laying out anything needed for the celebration of Mass, such as cruets, chalices, ciboria, linens, oils, processional cross, and candles. The sacristan also arranges the books needed for the celebration, marking all the divisions. The duties of a sacristan does not stop there!
